Authentic Identity Representation

Nexus is built on a foundation of authenticity and trust, where users are accountable to one another in a safe and open environment. We believe that accurate identity representation fosters genuine interactions, prevents deception, and strengthens community connections. While we recognize that identity is expressed in diverse ways, we prohibit the creation or use of accounts, profiles, or entities that mislead, impersonate, or deceive others.

To maintain integrity, users must create profiles that accurately reflect their identity. Any attempt to impersonate another person or entity, falsify identity details, or misrepresent oneself for deceptive purposes will result in account restrictions or removals.

Prohibited Identity Misrepresentation & Impersonation:

Nexus does not allow the creation, use, or maintenance of accounts, profiles, or entities that:

  • Belong to underage children who do not meet the minimum age requirement to use Nexus services.

  • Impersonate another person or entity by:

    • Using their image, name, or likeness to deceive others.

    • Speaking on behalf of an individual or organization without authorization (e.g., creating a fake page, profile, or account for someone else).

  • Engage in identity misrepresentation for deceptive purposes, including:

    • Evasion of enforcement actions.

    • Violations of Community Standards through false identities.

    • Repeated or significant changes to identity details (e.g., name, age, location, or occupation) to mislead others.

    • Misleading profile information, such as falsified bio details or profile location.

    • Use of stock imagery or AI-generated profile pictures to disguise one’s real identity.

  • Use a name that violates Community Standards, including names that:

    • Contain offensive language, symbols, or misleading elements.

    • Mimic well-known public figures, brands, or organizations to confuse users.

Restrictions & Identity Verification:

Nexus may request additional information to confirm the authenticity of an account before applying temporary restrictions or permanent disabling. We take further action if an account:

  • Uses a false date of birth to misrepresent age.

  • Uses a name that does not match the authentic identity a person goes by in daily life.

  • Represents more than one individual in a single account.

  • Creates or maintains multiple Nexus accounts in violation of platform rules.

  • Attempts to create an account for a non-human entity (e.g., businesses, pets, fictional characters) outside the permitted business and brand pages.

  • Maintains empty or dormant profiles for extended periods without engagement.

Policy Enforcement & Consequences:

Nexus actively monitors and enforces compliance with this policy using:

  • Automated identity verification to detect impersonation and identity fraud.

  • User reports and manual reviews to validate profile authenticity.

  • Warnings, temporary restrictions, and permanent disabling for users engaged in identity misrepresentation.

Users who believe their account was incorrectly restricted may appeal the decision, provided they can verify their authentic identity.

Policy Updates & Amendments:

This policy is subject to periodic review and updates to address evolving risks related to identity fraud, impersonation, and digital authenticity. Updates take effect immediately upon publication.
