Nexus Real Estate Group respects your privacy, and we are committed to providing you with transparency as to our collection, use, disclosure, sale, sharing, and retention of personal information (“Information Practices”), and how you can manage your privacy preferences. This California Notice at Collection and Privacy Policy (“CA Privacy Notice”) applies solely to California residents. The CA Privacy Notice does not apply to information we collect in the context of an individual’s interaction with us as a job applicant, employee, contractor, or other role within Nexus —for that information, please refer to our “CCPA Workforce Disclosure.”

Note: Nexus does not collect any sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about any consumer. Therefore, we are not required to include a “Limit My Sensitive Personal Information” link on our website.

Data Retention

We will retain your user information and documentation for the retention period required by law and may occasionally retain it beyond the required period if reasonably necessary to fulfill an ongoing business need (e.g., account recovery) or to comply with applicable tax, legal, or accounting requirements.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need for your information, we will delete, anonymize, aggregate, or de-identify it. If this is not possible (e.g., your information is in backup archives), we will securely store it and isolate it from further processing until deletion is feasible. When disposing of personal information, we use procedures designed to erase or render it unreadable (e.g., shredding documents, wiping electronic media).

Guiding Principles for Retention:

  • Minimize retention periods to protect user privacy while adhering to regulations

  • Maintain appropriate retention periods for the business purposes for which records were collected

  • Ensure the support, operations, and security of the Nexus environment

  • Seek legal counsel to determine when it’s appropriate to share data beyond Nexus or third-party vendors, or preserve data for litigation/law enforcement

Note: “Personal Information” does not include publicly available information from government records or widely distributed media, or information that has been de-identified or aggregated.

We will not collect additional categories of personal information without providing a new Notice at Collection.

We share your personal information with third parties to provide contracted or requested services, or to carry out business purposes (e.g., information security support, HR services).

Do Not Sell/Share My Personal Information

You have the right to request that Nexus and our service providers not sell or share certain personal information we have collected (except information necessary for specific business purposes, like payroll/HR). You can exercise this right at any time by clicking the “Do Not Sell/Share My Personal Information” link in our dedicated Privacy Center (also accessible on our homepage and mobile apps).

California Privacy Policy

This CA Privacy Notice addresses California laws applicable to the privacy practices of Nexus. When you use our Services, you consent to the collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, retention, disclosure, and other uses of your information as described in this CA Privacy Notice and our main Privacy Policy.

  • Affiliates: Entities like certain labs, originators, integrated systems, title, and escrow companies. Refer to each Affiliate’s privacy policies.

  • Agents: Independent contractors (licensed real estate salespersons/brokers) who are not employed by Nexus. They may use our platform but could also maintain personal data outside of it, in which case your privacy options may differ.

All capitalized terms used here shall have the same meanings as in our main Privacy Policy.

California Privacy Rights: Shine the Light Law

Under Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83, California residents can request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing. To request or opt out, email legal@nexus.realestate.

California Privacy Rights: Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)

If you wish to review or request changes to your personally identifiable information (as defined under CalOPPA) collected through our Site or Services, email legal@nexus.realestate or use the request form in our Privacy Center.

California Privacy Rights: CCPA (as Amended by CPRA)

If you are a California consumer under these laws, you have rights regarding your “Personal Information.” We may limit these rights where permitted by law. To exercise these rights, see Submitting A Verified Consumer Request below. Only you or your authorized agent may submit a verifiable request.

Collection of Personal Information

We may collect various categories of personal information, such as identifiers, protected classifications, professional information, and inferences, among others. We will not collect additional categories without providing an updated Notice at Collection.

Sensitive Personal Information is not used or disclosed beyond the business purposes allowed under CCPA/CPRA, so we do not offer a specific limit on such uses.

Individual Rights, Controls, and Choices

  • Right to Know: You can request details on the personal information we collect, use, and disclose.

  • Right to Opt Out of Sharing: You can request we do not sell/share your personal information with third parties.

  • Right to Correct: You can ask us to correct inaccurate personal information.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights.

Opt-Out Preference Signals

Our website supports certain global privacy control signals (e.g., in supported browsers or extensions). Adjust your personal browser or extension settings if you wish to use these signals.

Data Retention

We follow the data retention practices described above in the Data Retention section to protect your information until it is no longer needed.

Tracking Technologies and Do Not Track Signals

We retain applicant/employee information for legally required periods and may extend retention if needed for a business purpose (e.g., account recovery) or to meet tax/legal/accounting obligations.

When there is no ongoing legitimate business need to use your information, we delete or anonymize it. If this isn’t possible (e.g., backup archives), we securely store the data and block further processing until deletion is possible. We dispose of personal information via secure methods (e.g., shredding, wiping electronic media).

Right to Know (Collection, Disclosure, Sale)

You may request Nexus disclose:

Upon receiving a verifiable request, we will provide this information free of charge unless the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive (e.g., repetitive). You may request this up to twice in a 12-month period.

Right to Opt Out of Third-Party Sharing (Do Not Sell/Share My Personal Information)

You can request Nexus not sell or share personal information, except for necessary business operations (e.g., HR functions). To exercise:

Right to Correct

You can request we correct inaccurate personal information. We may need documentation to verify inaccuracies. We can delete inaccurate information if it does not harm you or if you consent.

You may request the deletion of your personal information. However, because you are an applicant, some information is necessary (e.g., payroll, benefits), limiting immediate deletion in certain circumstances.

Legal Exceptions
We need not delete if:

  • Retention is required to fulfill a service/contract

  • It supports security and integrity

  • It addresses debugging needs

  • It ensures free speech or legal obligations

  • It meets legitimate research needs

  • It aligns with legitimate internal uses consistent with your relationship

  • It satisfies legal compliance

Submitting a Verified Consumer Request

We’ll confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days if we can verify your identity. We cannot disclose certain sensitive identifiers (e.g., SSN), but we can verify possession of such data. We will contact you if additional verification is needed.

Verifying Consumer Requests

We may require up to three pieces of personal information to match our records. We’ll only use such info to verify your request. Requests deemed repetitive or excessive may result in a fee or refusal.

Authorized Agents

You may designate a registered authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. We require written permission and identity verification for both you and the agent.

Right to Equal Service

Nexus will not discriminate or retaliate against you (as an applicant or employee) for exercising your rights under California law.

Sell/Share Applicant Information

We only share applicant personal information with third parties for specific purposes (e.g., HR, payroll, benefits, or other business functions). These third parties may include data analytics providers, government entities, operating systems/platforms, cloud storage, payment processors, and cybersecurity providers. We do not sell or share applicant info outside these necessary business operations.

We do not use or disclose “sensitive personal information” beyond the minimal purposes allowed under CCPA/CPRA.
